The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl handheld is beautiful, black-and-chrome, and incredibly tiny. Yet there’s nothing small about the feature list: an ultra bright color screen, speakerphone, two programmable side buttons, Bluetooth and so on. First-time features include a 1.3 megapixel camera with inbuilt flash, expandable memory-card slot, voice-activated dialing, movie playback and a music player that can keep the tunes going while you work in other programs.

Another new feature is the new Pearl ‘trackball’ navigation system, designed to make moving around your BlackBerry easy and fast.

The media player can be used for video playback, photos and music files and these can then be stored on the microSD card along with other documents or linked to a PC using a USB cable, smartphone browser applications or Bluetooth.

The microSD card storage will be determined by the card capacity. The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl is a 2G device yet has the great browsing and email attachment download performance you will have come to expect from BlackBerry
